June 27, 2008, Newsletter Issue #147: Protecting Cables in Hostile Environments

Tip of the Week

When you´re out in the field under rough conditions you can´t afford to confuse military cables or cords. Color coding cables can make it much easier to manage the operation and maintenance of equipment that is subject to being set up and taken down frequently. One solution to this problem is to use a well thought-out color code scheme using colored mil spec heat shrink tubing. Heat shrink tubing can also reinforce cables for use in extreme weather conditions, underground, or underwater. Our natural and colored heat shrink tubing conforms to all major commercial and military specifications, including MIL-I-23053.
