February 3, 2006, Newsletter Issue #27: Choosing Your Standby Generator

Tip of the Week

Looking for generator information? If you´re thinking of getting a standby generator, you need to know how much work it will have to do. In order to make sure your generator meets your power requirements, decide in advance which appliances you want to keep using in the event of an outage. Then, you have to find out how much current (measured in amps) and voltage each of them requires. Total up the current, and the voltage of the appliances you want to keep using, and use that to select the generator that best suits your needs.
